Hello Students!
We hope you enjoyed your holiday break and that you’re ready to tackle the New Year. No matter what happens in 2020, remember PSU’s doors are open to help or be a safe space for anyone! If you’re interested in keeping yourself more updated about our programs/events, you can visit our website and click the “For Students” tab at the top (https://www.pvdstudentunion.org/students.) Or! You can follow our social media @pvdstudentunion on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook! This month is full of exciting events but please remember to check if you need to RSVP. It helps us a lot knowing who is going! For example, PSU is hosting a movie night to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Limited space is available, RSVP to save a spot or several if you invite friends :)

Well-being Drive (Holiday Season)

This holiday season, we are hosting a clothing drive! You, your friends, family, anyone, can help by dropping off your gently worn items at our office. Our goal is to provide for our students and community and appreciate any donations- please spread the word!
Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday the 20th)
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day to celebrate his birthday, but most importantly his legacy of his hard work and fight for civil rights and against poverty. Read below for a special event we’ll be planning to celebrate MLK.
Movie Night: Selma (Wednesday the 22nd)
3pm-5pm @Providence Student Union
To celebrate MLK’s legacy, we’ll be having a movie night showing Selma. Snacks and drinks will be provided! Join us and invite others for this special night to join you but space is limited! (RSVP at https://www.pvdstudentunion.org/events#register).
Conversations For Change (Wednesday the 22nd)
4:30pm-6:30pm @Moore Hall Arts Cafe 122
Center at Moore Hall and Community D.I.D. Lab present “Student Activism and Engagement.” A workshop and dialogue with Providence Student Union! If you are a person with disability and require an assistive device or other accommodations to participate, please contact the Central Reservation Coordinator in advance.
What Is Engineering? (Saturday the 25th)
2pm-4pm @Brown Erc (345 Brook St.)
Society of Women Engineers and Brown Design Workshop want to show you what engineering is about! Join PSU, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers and Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at Brown University to learn what you can do with STEM. You’ll even get the chance to build something of your own! (RSVP at http://bit.ly/PSUengineering).
Vision Board Party (Monday the 27th)

Lets go into the new year strong! Join us with Sojourner House in this event to embrace self-love, and keepin’ our heads up and hearts strong!
